Salvation Does Not Equal Entitlement

Hebrews 9:28 “So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.”

Some misunderstand when they discover Jesus that they do not have a ‘Genie out of the bottle.” John 12:16-18 tells us that the witnesses at the raising of Lazarus were present at the Triumphal Entry. They desired freedom from Roman rule. This is not what God had in mind. God’s plan is reflected in John 17:2-3 “…as you have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

In the past few decades it has been accepted by some that salvation entitles you to live lavish because you are a child of the King. John 17:16 says, “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”

James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
