2 Corinthians 5:17-18-Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new. All this is from God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Beloved, have you ever wondered what kind of ministry God has put under your care? If you are like most born again believers, you yearn to be used by God in some capacity. Although I cannot tell you what your specific ministry is, I can, through these verses, tell you a ministry that God has given to every Christian. He has given you and me the ministry of reconciliation. What is reconciliation? It is described in the verse before it.
Reconciliation is what God did when He sent Jesus to bear our sin on His soldiers that we might be whole with Him again. When we were born again, when God’s Spirit literally entered inside us, we were reconciled to God by the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus has reconciled us to God! Hallelujah!
However, God didn’t only save us that we would be reconciled to Him, He also saved us that we might try to reconcile others to God. How do we that? By sharing the Gospel with people who do not have a relationship with Christ. It may be scary if you have never done it. However, I promise you, that you will be glad you did. I have never had a moment when I shared the good news of Jesus with someone and regretted it. In fact, it always builds my own faith. So ask yourself today, “Who have I known for years, that I have never shared Jesus with?” or ask God to bring divine opportunities into your life and look for Him to answer your prayer. You will not regret it.
