Today is the last day I’ll be focusing on becoming a warrior. But it may continue to be a thread that is woven into more of my posts because it is a topic that I am passionate about.
Fighting the good fight in my own life and in prayer for my family, friends and even strangers that I see in spiritual battle. I believe God is calling every Christian to RISE UP at this time and fight.
In Ezra 10:4, it tells of the Jewish people and how they had fallen into sin, and they needed to repent and start over with God. “Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it."
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1,2
Shall we stay down and defeated? Or shall we rise up and fight the battle?
“For you equipped me with strength for the battle.” Psalm 18:39a “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
It is so helpful to not look at the difficult people in our lives as the enemy, but to recognize that it is sin and ultimately evil in the spiritual realms who we battle. But we also must know that our Savior has already won the battle, we just need to join Him in the fight. “Jesus is grieved when His people fail to participate in His ministry against the forces of Satan. He wants His power to be released against spiritual darkness.” Fire Bible commentary on Matthew 17:17
Sometimes, our battle is to walk through a difficult situation faithfully, without wavering in our faith, no matter how tempted we are to feel sorry for ourselves or become bitter. Whatever our battle is, if we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will be victorious. He loves us, strengthens and sustains us in a very personal way.
