Romans 8:28-We know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
There are many times in our life when things happen that we do not understand. As we look through the book of Job, we can see a righteous man of God who lived his life to please the Lord. The Lord had blessed him with wealth, children, a wife, a house and more. Then God and Satan had a meeting where God essentially challenged Satan that no matter what Satan would do to Job, he would not curse God and leave the faith. Satan then proceeded to destroy his wealth and possessions. A house fell on Job’s children and they all died. He even was struck with boils all over his skin.
After a time of mourning, Job had some friends come along and tell him that he needed to repent because bad things don’t happen to righteous people (this is theological error). Through it all, Job never lost his faith and he continued to trust God. At the end of
the book, God restores everything Job had times two.
Do you ever feel like everything is against you? Do you ever wonder why all these bad things have happened and it feels like God has forsaken you? I can assure you that if you are a child of God, He has not forsaken you. Hebrews 13:5 says, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” That is a promise! God promises to work your circumstance out for good! Even when you don’t see it, you can trust that God is going to pull you through to the other side.
When it feels like we are walking through the valley of the shadow of death, we can rest in knowing that His rod (the Word of God) and his staff (the Spirit of God) will comfort us. God has not lost control of your life and He still and always will have a divine plan for your life. We may not see all that we need or see our future, but I assure you God does. God is in control.
